The Nintendo Wii Fit was finally released with much fanfare recently. If you have not seen the Wii game system from Nintendo, is the latest evolution in the game video where players can use the remote to simulate real-life actions, such as a tennis forehand. Physical actions of the players will play in the screen.
The Wii Fit is a "game", according to Nintendo website can increase their skill levels. "By playing Wii Fit a little every day, you, your friends and your family can work with their personal goals of better health and fitness, "the site says. Although I still have to use the game at all, I say I am very skeptical that this will make a dent in the growing obesity problem in America.
The Wii Fit comes with a balance board that the player uses to interact with the game. When starting the game, the Wii Fit assesses the balance – which is important in your overall health, but is usually not a concern for anyone who is not an elderly or recovering from injury.
It proceeds to perform the test body, which is more balanced assessment, followed by calculate body mass index (or BMI). BMI is a very imperfect measure of one's own fitness, as it measures the ratio of weight to the very high level. Thus, in the range of body mass index, the following people are considered overweight or obese:

However, this does nothing in terms of constriction in the obesity problem in America. In fact, I'm going out on a limb and say that the industry video games have to follow the path of alcohol and snuff manufacturers, and state that the excessive use of its product could lead to inactivity and obesity, rather than trying to make half an effort to increase levels of American activity.
Instead of letting their children play Wii Fit while watching television in another room, here are some things you can do together:
- Go walking briskly
- Group session with a personal trainer
- Navigate a course of confidence
- Play catch with a football or baseball
- Kicking a soccer ball
- One-on-one basketball
- Walking and playing on a par 3 golf course
- Working in the family garden or shovel snow!
You can save money on electricity and form stronger bonds with their children as you increase your fitness levels together.
